Her Worship the Mayor recorded her thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Mayor for her support and assistance during the last year and presented to Councillor Fairhead the past Mayors badge.
On the motion of Councillor K Grey, seconded by Councillor B Coleman it was :-
RESOLVED
That Councillor Malcolm Dudley Bird, one of the Councillors of the Borough of Great Yarmouth, be and is here by elected Mayor of the said Borough for the municipal year 2016/17
(Councillor Weymouth here vacated the Chair, and Councillor Bird occupied the same).
On the motion of Councillor Plant, seconded by Councillor Wainwright it was :-
That Council do record their sincere thanks and appreciation to Councillor Shirley Ann Weymouth for the dedication, grace and enthusiasm with which she has carried out her Mayoral duties and for the interest and dignity Shirley has shown in all matters concerning the Borough, and that these resolutions be engrossed, sealed with a common seal and suitably presented to Councillor Shirley Weymouth.
That Councillor Shirley Ann Weymouth be and is here by elected Deputy Mayor of the Borough of Great Yarmouth for the Municipal Year 2016/17.
The Mayor reported that he had appointed Rev'd Albert Cadmore to be his Chaplain for the Mayoral Year 2016/17.
The Mayor reported on the details of his Charities for the Municipal year 2016/17.
Members were reminded that the Borough Council had agreed to appoint Honorary Alderman which recognises eminent services to the Borough carried out by former Councillors. As a result, the Council had agreed to appoint Mr Anthony Blyth, Mrs Penny Linden and Mr Barry Stone as Honorary Alderman.
Accordingly, his Worship the Mayor presented the Badge of Offices to the Honorary Alderman.
