Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Hammond and Stenhouse and County Councillor Castle.

Councillor Waters-Bunn declared a personal interest in the item relating to the Beaconsfield in her capacity as Chairman of PoNY.

The minutes of the meeting held on the 5 December 2017 were confirmed.

The Chairman reported on the following items :-

(1) In reference to a question raised from Councillor Waters-Bunn in respect of volume of traffic travelling throughout Cobholm, the Committee are advised that this matter is to be referred to the Great Yarmouth Transport and Infrastructure Steering Group, the next meeting Group will be held on the 6 March 2018.

(2) In reference to a question raised in relation to Traffic light system on Yarmouth Way, the Committee are advised that this matter is to be referred to the Great Yarmouth Transport and Infrastructure Steering Group, the next meeting Group will be held on the 6 March 2018.

There were no public questions received.

The Chairman reported that there was no update in respect of the Wintergardens project.

The Committee considered a report from Mr Langley, PoNY representative which asked Members to support residents by ensuring transparency so that everyone has accurate information, oppose any restriction of public access to the Beaconsfield Recreation Park, and oppose the "stopping up" of the East section of Beaconsfield Road. 

Members discussed the concerns raised by PoNY and agreed that there was a need to show the Committee's support.

In discussing the item the following was agreed :-

(1) That a letter be sent to the Council's Environmental Health Department stating the Committee's disappointment of the proposed loss of use at the Beaconsfield Recreation Park.

(2) That the Chairman raise the issue of the "stopping up" order at the Transport and Infrastructure Steering Group.

(3) That a letter be sent to the Chair of the Inspiration Trust, Dame De Souza to arrange a meeting for Members of the Committee to attend, to discuss future intentions of the school. It was agreed that Councillors Jones, Bird, Walch, Waters-Bunn and County Councillor Mike Smith-Clare be invited to attend a meeting once arranged.

Councillor Walch raised his concerns in respect of roadworks at the Conge, Great Yarmouth, the Chairman reported that he would report the concerns raised at the Transport and Infrastructure Steering Group at it's meeting on the 6 March 2018.
