Welcome by Her Worship the Mayor, Councillor Mary Coleman.
Her Worship the Mayor welcomed to the meeting the High Steward, Freemen,Honorary Alderman, Councillors and members of the public.
Prior to the commencement of the business of the meeting a one minute silence was held in memory of former Councillor Harry McGee.
Apologies were received from Councillors Borg, G Carpenter, Cordiner-Achenbach, Galer, A Grey, K Grey, Hacon, and C Walker.
To consider the motion.
The following motion was proposed by Councillor Plant and seconded by Councillor Wainwright :
That in recognition of the eminent and valuable services rendered to the people of the Borough of Great Yarmouth over a period of thirty six years by Barry George Coleman who during such time has served with distinction twice as Mayor, Leader of the Council, Chairman of the Norfolk Waste Partnership, Preservation Trust, Economic Development and St George's Trust.
Together with his dedicated service to the Tourism and Heritage Industry of the Borough and in many other walks of public life where Councillor Coleman is held in great respect by a wide spectrum of people both in the Borough of Great Yarmouth and in the County of Norfolk. The Council hereby confers upon the said Barry George Coleman the Honorary Freedom of the Borough of Great Yarmouth and hereby admits him to be an Honorary Freeman of the Borough.

That in recognition of the eminent and valuable services rendered to the people of the Borough of Great Yarmouth over a period of thirty eight years by Brian Robert Walker who during such time has served with distinction both as Chairman and Leader of the Council, as a Norfolk County Councillor, as Chairman of Economic Development, South Gorleston Development area and Policy and Resources, as Cabinet Member and Deputy Leader.Together with his dedicated service to the Magdalen Ward of the Borough and in many other walks of public life where Councillor Walker is held in great respect by a wide spectrum of people both in the Borough of Great Yarmouth and in the County of Norfolk. The Council hereby confers upon the said Brian Robert Walker the Honorary Freedom of the Borough of Great Yarmouth and hereby admits him to be an Honorary Freeman of the Borough .

That in recognition of the eminent and valuable services rendered to the people of the Borough of Great Yarmouth over a period of forty years by Charles Joseph Reynolds who during such time has served with distinction as Chairman of the Development Control Committee, as Vice-Chairman and a Member of various committees, as Shadow Leader and Deputy Leader, as a Norfolk County Councillor and as a Parliamentary Candidate,to his dedicated service to the Tourism Industry and in many other walks of public life where Mr Reynolds is held in great respect by a wide spectrum of people both in the Borough of Great Yarmouth and in the County of Norfolk. The Council hereby confers upon the said Charles Joseph Reynolds the Honorary Freedom of the Borough of Great Yarmouth and hereby admits him to bean Honorary Freeman of the Borough.

Council considered a report from the Head of Organisational Development seeking ratification of the recommendation from the Employment Committee following the recruitment and selection process undertaken by the committee for the post of Director of Housing.

That Nicola Turner be appointed as the Director of Housing.
