3 Treasurer's Report

The treasurer reported that the bank account balance was £4,336.31 

NatWest had asked the Sports Council to confirm the details of their signatories again by the end of October 2013.
4 Grant Applications

The Sports Council were informed that there had been no applications for grants. 

A press release was tabled which invited individuals and clubs to apply for sports grants for coaching, equipment and activities. 

It was suggested that the quote should be from the Chair of the Sports Council rather than Councillor Sutton.  It was also agreed to add the wording officiating as well as coaching.

Marie Hartley will liaise with the Council's press officer to arrange the release of the press release.  
5 Any other business
Discussion of any other business not on the agenda.

A discussion ensued around the role of the Sports Council and whether it should try to increase it's membership and/or approach local companies to ask them if they would like to donate funding to the Sports Council which could then be allocated to local sports groups.  It was agreed that the Treasurer would consider further action.
