The officer report, following assessment and recommendations of the Arboricultural Officer confirms that the tree would have significant public amenity value and value to the Conservation Area which warrants its protection under Section 198 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

Through the officer report’s assessment, the alternative option not to protect the  trees has been discounted given the significant public amenity value and perceived threat to its potential loss.
