(i) International Disability Day
Claire Winter reported that there had been a slow uptake from local sports clubs. Michelle Gibson stated that she would be interested in being involved. Laurie Hull stated that he would speak to Ellen Vanlint and ask her to chase some of the local sports clubs.

Active Norfolk Update
Active Norfolk colleagues will report on County initiatives and related Great Yarmouth projects.

Laurie Hull reported on behalf of Active Norfolk on the following:-
*Recruitment had now completed for Laurie's replacement and this would be Ben Jones and he would be in post from the end of January 2014.
*Jessica Jane Applegate had received an award at the Active Norfolk Sports Awards.
*£18,000 was available to spend on Sportivate Projects for Norfolk.
*A new Inspired places funding programme would commence in January 2014.
*Two bids are being written, one for Sport England's Inclusive Sport and also one for the Community Sport Activation Fund in January, this will be a county wide bid.
*The Village Games Golf Competition didn't take place, however, the squash was going ahead. The Alternative Village Games would be taking place in January and village teams could now apply.

Great Yarmouth Sport & Leisure Trust (GYSLT)
The Partnership is asked to note the extension of Laurie Hull's term of office on the GYSLT Board until his retirement at the end of January 2014. Laurie is one of two Great Yarmouth Sports Partnership representatives.

The Chairman reported that Laurie Hull's term of office on the Great Yarmouth Sport and Leisure Trust had been extended until his retirement at the end of January 2014.
It was pointed out that the partnership should now consider a suitable replacement and it was suggested that this person should read the Charity Commisions Trustee document as a guide to what the role of a Trustee would involve.

The Culture, Sport & Leisure Manager will give a verbal report.

It was reported that St Georges as a venue for the start of the East Coast Run had been received positively.

Great Yarmouth Strategic Partnership Update
The Partnerships Officer for Great Yarmouth Borough Council will give a verbal update.

The Council's Partnership's Officer reported on the following:-
*The Equalities Day had gone well with 70 people attending. All the agencies that attended stated that it was a good networking opportunity and that they would like the event to return to Great Yarmouth next year.
*The Older People's Network was taking longer to deal with the funding from Norfolk County Council. Anyone over the age of 50 with an activity idea should contact Tracey Jones. There is £38,000 funding available.
*Domestic Violence - The White Ribbon Campaign this year will be around young people with standing silhouettes being placed in the town hall all week.
*Loan Sharks - 50 people completed surveys and training will be carried out.
*Youth Advisory Board - 5 or 6 posts of money are available and the closure of bids is next monday. MAP are employing a Rural Community Project Officer and the YMCA have been given the Urban Post.

Great Yarmouth Sports Partnership's Work Programme
The Working Group will report on progress to date and update on the Street Games UK Doorstep Sport Clubs proposal.

It was agreed that the Working Group should meet as soon as possible to discuss this item.

(i) Active Norfolk
Alex Bond reported on the Village Games stating that there would be two events with Squash being held at the weekend which had low numbers and unless there were six people the event may not go ahead. The Alternative Village Games would be held in January 2014. A Rural Sport Development Officer had left.
(ii) Norfolk Future Youth
Michelle Gibson reported that the football was going well. The last youth cafe would be held on Friday with MAP and Norfolk Future Youth would now be looking for alternative funding and would like to have the cafe two nights a week. Michelle then spoke of the Street life aspect on the website.
(iii) Great Yarmouth Partnership's Oficer
Equal Lives runs a youth cafe in Norwich and in January 2014 they would be opening one in Great Yarmouth bi-weekly on Saturdays based at the Priory Centre. Norfolk County Council were asking for opinions on their cuts via their website and partners were encourage to take part in this consultation. The Mental Health Service were carrying out a consultation in January 2014 on shaping services.
(iv) GYSLT
Councillor Sutton reported that the GYSLT was loosing Edwina Wright and they were now looking for a new Chief Executive. Funding of £2,500 for the Central Yarmouth Area was available for the promotion of sport, culture and leisure activities.
(v) Lynn Grove High School
The Kicks Project had been running for three weeks and they were now trying to set up a girls only session.
Two nights a week on Mondays and Thursday Hockey, Boxing and Handball would be run for 50p a session.
Active Norfolk had funded two coaches for Year 8 Rugby. The tennis courts were on schedule to open to the public in the new year with the official launch in the Spring. It was also hoped to get a summer netball team at Lynn Grove.

It was agreed that the next meeting would be held on 8 January 2014 and that future 2014 dates would be tabled to the partnership in the near future.

Networking Opportunities
Partners have the opportunity to network/meet/discuss with fellow colleagues to explore joint working opportunities and ensure a co-ordinated approach to local delivery.
