It was suggested that the Map has a formal launch. The Chairman agreed to speak to the Cultural Heritage Education Partnership about the Peter Pon education video.

(c) Local Press

The Chairman asked anyone if they would like to write an article on Cultural Heritage for the local press.

(d) Tourist Kiosk and Booking Office in Town Centre

It was reported that this was supported in principal by the Town Centre Partnership and by the Town Centre Master Plan Group, however it was not felt that this would be of use to the GY Minster ticket sales as these tend to be purchased close to an event or on the door. It was reported that St Georges sell a 1/3 of their tickets on line, 1/3 over the phone and 1/3 in person. Funding for a Booking office had not been secured and ongoing costs were of concern.

The Cultural Heritage Partnership are working on this and is going well.

These will take place as usual.

8 CULTURAL HERITAGE CONFERENCE 2017

8

The Chairman reported that he had arranged a meeting for 9am which then did not  take place.

The Chairman suggested that the conference be called "Performing Arts of the Coast and looking to the future" it was pointed out that if the conference was aimed at other Coastal Resorts and Local residents is needed a different title.

It was suggested that David McDermott be involved in the committee due to his depth of knowledge.

It was agreed that the cost of £25 was too much and that £15 for non residents and £10 for residents would be more appropriate.

Dr Davies stated that he would prefer a questions and answers approach to the conference instead of workshops.

It was agreed that the 9am meeting would be re-convened with the following people invited:-

Seachange - Joe and Brenda

Time & Tide - Andrew Smith

Conservation Department - Darren and Charlotte

Hippodrome - Peter Jay and Jack Jay

Also Peter McDermott would be invited.
