The Treasurers update was summarised to the Trust.

The Treasurer also tabled for consideration the draft accounts for the Trust for the year ending 31st December 2015.

5 RE-ORDERING UPDATE
An update will be given.

The Chairman reported that the under floor heating for the Minster had been postponed. The Rector had decided to go ahead with the refurbishment of the organ and an expert was visiting the Minster in April to advise on works that would be required and would then subsequently produce a report for consideration. The Rector would be applying for grant aid for the organ works. It was hoped that works would start on the refurbishment this year.

The Trust were advised that a number of articles had been included in the Great Yarmouth Mercury on behalf of the Preservation Trust.

a) Quiz at Craft and Cast February 2016

Bob Price is progressing this item with the owner John Burrows.

b) Mary Opera concert

The Trust agreed that the Chairman should find out the cost of staging a Merry Opera concert.

c) Rock and Roll

David McDermott reported that the Time and Tide Museum will assist with advertising a Rock and Roll concert which it was hoped would be staged towards the end of April / May 2016. Radio Norfolk had also agreed to promote this event and it was proposed that a £5 charge would be made for tickets. There would be no cost to the Trust.

Members noted the following plan :-

a) Christmas Tree Festival - Friday 9th to Sunday 18 December

b) Summer Music Sundays 3pm with drink and cake - Tickets - £6 - £7.50

At previous meetings it had been agreed that Directors would provide cake for this event and the Trust agreed that Bob Price should arrange for the supply of cakes for these events the cost to split between the Directors.

It was agreed that Colin Tooke, Chairman and the Vice Chairman would provide the short talks to be undertaken October / November 2016.

Colin Smith had been unable to make contact as yet.

d) Net Service

Members noted that it was proposed subject to the owners agreement for the herrings to be cooked at the Furzedown Hotel this year. The Vice Chairman suggested that the sponsors should be presented with a certificate of thanks in recognition of their help.


11 JUNE 2017
75th Anniversary of the bombing of the Minster.

Members noted that the 75th Anniversary of the bombing of the Minster would be held in June 2017.

COMMONWEALTH DAY - 14 MARCH

The Chairman advised Members that the church would be raising a flag in respect of Commonwealth day on the 14 March at 10am.


ARTS FESTIVAL

The Vice Chairman reported that the Arts Festival would be held between the 3 to the 12 June this year and that it was proposed to launch a friends of the festival at a cost of £10.
