Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Connell, Albert Jones, Henry Cator, Michael Boon, Christopher Terry and Ian Miller.

Sandra expressed concern that other Directors were not more involved.

The current account is £11,380
The deposit account is £146,733 with 1.35% interest.

5 MATTERS ARISING
To consider any matters arising from the above minutes.

(i) The Chairman read out an email from Colleen Walker which stated that it was with deep regret that she had to tender her resignation as a trustee due to her heavy work commitments at County Hall and that the Royal Marines band would not be booked due to the cost which was higher than anticipated  and their availability.

(ii) Hugh Sturzaker spoke of a conference called "How can Cultural Heritage Generate Seaside Towns" on the 18th November 2015 at £10 per head with tickets available from St Georges Theatre.

7 NEWS
TIC as booking agent 5% charge.

It was reported that the TIC charge 5% commission for selling tickets. A Trustee suggested to use St Georges Theatre but concern was expressed at this. Hugh reported that the Tourist BID gave money towards the Arts Festival and suggested that the Trust could apply for funding. It was also suggested that the Trust could set up a Charity Shop.

The Chairman reported that there would be a meeting held on Friday 11 September 2015 about this and he would provide an update on this at the next trust meeting.

a) Quiz at Craft and Cast (Bob Price) - Provisionally booked for February 2016.
b) An Evening with Lord Dannatt (Ian Miller) - event postponed.
c) Update on the Friends - no update.
d) Royal Marines Band (£5,000) - November 2018 with the British Legion (Colleen Walker) - event cancelled.
e) Merry Opera concert (smaller) - This could take place as an Operatic Arias which would be smaller and cheaper. It was agreed that the Chairman would obtain a quote.

11 CONFIRMED PLAN FOR 2015

a) Sunday 4th October : Blessing of the Nets and herring supper 6.30pm : Masquers with local schools input - no address/lecture.  Herrings and fish fingers and bread.  Arthur Hollis. Lesson readers.

b) Saturday 17th October: The Third Celebrations Fair 10am-3pm (Weddings, Anniversaries, Proms etC) and blessings at 11.30 and reafirmation of vows at 2pm (Sandra McCullagh). Printing £3

c) Saturday 5th December Gary Winters nad Hayley Moss + ?quartet.

d) Christmas Tree Festival Friday 11th 0 Sunday 20th December - need stewards.

a) Sunday 4th October : Blessing of the Nets and herring supper 6.30pm : Masquers with local schools input - no address/lecture.  Herrings and fish fingers and bread cooked by Arthur Hollis. Lesson readers. Sandra McCullough and David McDermott both agreed to read lessons.  Two local schools would be involved and would do two singing performances along with the Masquers being involved. Tickets would be £5.

b) Saturday 17th October: The Third Celebrations Fair 10am-3pm (Weddings, Anniversaries, Proms etc) and blessings at 11.30 and reafirmation of vows at 2pm (Sandra McCullagh). Printing £3 The Mayor would be invited to this event. The Cinderella Carriage had been booked.

c) Saturday 5th December Gary Winters and Hayley Moss + ?quartet. Sandra agreed to chase this.

d) Christmas Tree Festival Friday 11th 0 Sunday 20th December - need stewards. David McDermott agreed to ask the Circus for tickets as a prize again and Colin Smith would provide trophies.

12 CONFIRMED PLAN FOR 2016

a) Dixiemix Jazz Band 16th July 2016 at 7.30pm Tickets £10 Fee: £600 again.

b) The Exhibition in the Minster would be on display until the end of the month. 

c) an event called "Know your community" was being held at the Town Hall on 28 October 2015 and was being arranged by Laura Goodman.  The Trust would have a table at this event.

To consider any other business as may be determined by the Chairman of the meeting as being of sufficient urgency to warrant consideration.

(i) It was suggested that a talk be held at St Paul's Church or another venue.

(ii) It was reported that Paul Dashwood's funeral would be held on 21 September 2015 at 10.30 am at GY Minster and that Tim Thompson would be taking the funeral.
