GRANT APPLICATIONS

It was reported that the previous application for £120 for the Gorleston Lawn Tennis Club was for Heart Monitors which would cost £60 each but these had only cost £35 each. The Sports Council were asked if they were happy for the club to keep the remaining money and this was agreed.
Coach Education Grant Applications were considered:-
(i) Anja Walters requested £100 for a level 1 Gymnastic Course.
RESOLVED:
That a £100 grant be agreed.
(ii) Jessica Jane Applegate applied for a grant of £99 for a level 1 Aquatics teaching course.
RESOLVED:
That a £99 grant be agreed.
(iii) Shrublands Junior Football
Level 1 Football Coaching Award grant of £100.
RESOLVED
That a £100 grant be agreed.
(iv) Ormesby Lads Football Course
FA Level 1 Coaching Course.
RESOLVED:
That a £100 grant be agreed.
Small Grants Applications were considered from:-
(i) GY Community Trust
£350 to purchase an Electric Bike to be used in partnership with Activating CIC / GY Bike Project.
RESOLVED:
That a grant of £350 be agreed.
(ii) Bohemians Football Club
It was agreed to defer this item to await further information.
RESOLVED:
That this item be deferred awaiting further information.
(iii) Great Yarmouth Basket Ball
It was agreed that only 70% of the cost of the equipment would be provided.
RESOLVED:
That a grant of £490 be agreed.
(iv) Shrublands Junior Football
Asked for £477.00 towards equipment.
RESOLVED:
That a grant of £477.00 be agreed.
(v) Ormesby Junior Football Club
Asked for £440.00 for a mini goal soccer set. However the figures on their application were queried. Councillor Williamson asked to look at their end of year accounts.
RESOLVED:
That the grant of £440 be agreed subject to seeing a copy of their latest bank statement.

SPORTS AWARDS 2014
To discuss the 2014 Sports Awards.

The Chairman stated that the awards ceremony had gone well and that the Norfolk Sports Awards had been held last night with Sophie McKinna receiving an award along with Jessica Jane Applegate who is a member of the UEA City of Norwich Swimming Team.
The Great Yarmouth Sport and Leisure Trust have offered to sponsor the event again next year. The date would be 1st October 2015.

It was reported that the Champions Marble Plaque in the Town Hall was now full and the Sports Council would need to consider what to do next which would be discussed at a future meeting.
