(i) GY Sports Awards 2014
Alex Bond reported that the GY Sports Awards had gone well. Next years awards would be held on 1st October 2015. Three of the GY Awards winners had also been winners at the 2014 Norfolk Awards.

ACTIVE NORFOLK UPDATE
Active Norfolk colleagues will report and update on current projects and initiatives including Fun & Fit, Village Games and '150 Minutes' advert launch.

(i) 150 Minute Advert Launch
A Powerpoint showing a promotional advert promoting the new physical activity message '150 minutes' per week was shown to the Partnership.
(iI) Fun and Fit
It was reported that the Fun and Fit scheme launched earlier this year and commenced in Great Yarmouth in October with the aim of encouraging people to take part in weekly exercise.
There were 70 courses on offer in October 2014 with 882 places on offer this had seen a take up rate of 88%.
(iiI) Village Games 2015
The Village Games would be sponsored by the UEA Sports Park. Rounders in January and Netball in April.
A new volunteering programme is on the Active Norfolk Website. Three basketball satellite clubs are running at East Norfolk 6th Form College, Great Yarmouth High School and Cliff Park High School.
The next Norfolk Physical Activity Forum meeting would be held in March 2015 which would focus on Children and Young People; in September 2015 the focus would be Working Age Adults and in 2016 it would focus on Older People.

SPORT, PLAY & LEISURE STRATEGY REVIEW
The Culture, Sport and Leisure Manager will give a verbal update on the response to the public consultation process.

The public consultation period ended last week; the level of responses has been encouraging. Feedback received from local high schools and colleges, parish councils, Marina Centre users, various local sports clubs, governing bodies, key partners, private sector providers, community groups and general public. The next stage is to analyse the feedback and data received. An initial draft will be produced before Christmas and consultation feedback will follow in January 2015.

GY COLLEGE - SE INSPIRED FACILITIES BID
Representatives from GY College will report on the College's recent application submission for Sport England funding.

Kevin Bayes reported that the college had submitted a bid to Sport England to the Inspired Facilities Fund. To refurbish the Gym and create a fitness studio and community Gym facilities along with a healthy eating cafe and a consultation room. Students will manage the facility as part of their Sports Science Course. They would open till 8pm at night and on Saturdays plus Summer holiday clubs for children which would be run by the students.

GREAT YARMOUTH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS UPDATE
The Partnerships Officer for Great Yarmouth Borough Council will give a verbal report.

A Domestic Violence event would be held on 24 November 2014.
The Leeway Fire Walk fundraising event would be held on 27 November 2014 at 6pm in the Market place. It was £25 to participate and each participant needed to raise £100 in sponsorship.
Year 9 students across Norfolk are being shown a DVD called Chelsie's Choice about Child exploitation.

(i) Special Olympians
Claire spoke of the Special Olympians Disability Day to be held on 3 December 2014.
(ii) Simon Elliot - Activating CIC / GY Bike Project
Simon reported that they were offering a level 1 OCN qualification and would be working with the Youth Offending Team, the Police and local vulnerable people.
(iii) NCFC Community Sports Foundation
Toby Nickerson reported on the Premier for Sport Scheme which included handball, table tennis and boxing. He spoke of a new Futsal BTEC level course which had 13 people attending at the Lynn Grove High School.
Streetlife Soccer was held at the Marina CEntre for homeless and vulnerable people on Tuesdays 2-4pm.
National Citizenship Award for Year 11's is a 4 week course of which 2 weeks includes working on a community project
(iv) Great Yarmouth Borough Council
Councillor Williamson spoke of the Council's Transformation Programme and efficiency savings required due to the budget reduction.
(v) Active Norfolk
Alex Bond spoke of the Club and Coach Programme 2015 which would include a First Aid Course. In January 2015 9.00-4.30 First Aid course and in March a Safe Guarding Children from 6.30-9.30 both courses would be at Broadland Sports Club.
(vi) Voluntary Norfolk (South Yarmouth)
Tom Richards spoke of two dance groups which were running in the Nelson Ward, along with a new basket ball group for residents on a Sunday which is free to attend.
(vii) Great Yarmouth Sport and Leisure Trust
Wayne Nixon reported that the pool filtration system is being replaced so the pool will be closed from 10th December 2014 - 10 January 2014. Retro Skate will be holding a National Gala on 15-16 November 2014. The GP Referral Scheme would be returning to the Marina Centre. Aqua Bikes were a huge success. A Children in Need Spin a thon took place for 3 hours and raised over £1,000.

It was agreed that the next meeting would be held on Thursday 15 January 2015 at 5.30pm at the Marina Centre.
