Biography:
I have lived in Winterton, Somerton and Hemsby for the last 34 years and working closely with Parish Councils' in those villages and attending their meetings has given me an excellent insight into various issues and the needs of the parishioners. I also love the area and the community For around 32 years I've been involved with Parish Councils, acting as Clerk, over that time for Winterton, Somerton and Hemsby. My experience in doing this means I know how and where to go for results. The Officers at Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Norfolk County Council know me well and I have a good working relationship with them For the past 10 years I have been privileged and proud to serve those people, the people in the Borough and to serve the parishioners. In May 2010 I was re-elected to serve for a further four years My interests are caring for people in whatever way possible. My pets. I have 3 Dachshunds, Roger(who came 3rd at Crufts in 2010 in the YKC Hounds section), Tilley and Toby who I adore. I also enjoy needlework, theatre, sitting in the garden, dressmaking, reading and socialising in the villages I love the Committee work and am very active at the Committees to ensure that my voice and feelings are heard. My aims for the next four years are: SMP Coastal Erosion - To keep parishioners up to speed with the current situation and to ensure that our voices are heard to protect the coast, our homes and and holiday industry Health - To raise all issues that relate to the service the parishioners are getting in relation to their health and to ensure they are getting the right care pathway for their conditions Flooding - To ensure that all drains are kept clear so that there is less risk of flooding in very heavy rainfall Sewerage Problems - To ensure that the pumping station is kept in 100&% working order and to keep us on the map for future funding Communities - To ensure that communities get their fair share of funding to keep them active Services - That services are available for local people to make their lives easier
